Courthouse Services Division
The Courthouse Services Division is dedicated to ensuring the safety, integrity and orderly operation of the New Jersey Judicial System. Sheriff’s Officers are highly trained and responsible for the protection of judges, court staff, jurors, witnesses and members of the public within all court and county facilities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintain courtroom security and decorum
- Conduct security screenings at facility entrances
- Provide secure prisoner transportation and supervision during court appearances
- Assessing and mitigating threats related to judicial proceedings
- Coordinating with local, state and federal agencies on security matters





Special Services Division
The Special Services Division is comprised of several units as defined below.
Civil Unit
The primary responsibility is the service and enforcement of all Superior Court orders and subpoenas. Some services include Temporary Restraining Orders, Summons and Complaints, Writs of Possession, and Bank Levies. These actions are carried out in accordance with state laws and court mandates to ensure due process and uphold the authority of the court.
Warrant Unit
The primary objective of the Warrant Unit is to locate and apprehend individuals with outstanding arrest warrants. The division utilizes a variety of law enforcement databases to enter, track, and manage all warrants received. In addition, the unit conducts independent investigations to determine the whereabouts of wanted subjects. The Warrant Unit actively collaborates with local and state law enforcement agencies to participate in coordinated fugitive apprehension operations.

Canine (K-9) Unit
The Canine (K-9) Unit maintains five canines, each with their own discipline. Boomber, utilized for explosive detection, Dutch, Rip and Bama for patrol operations, tracking, and scent detection, and Cali for contraband detection inside the Correctional Facility. They also conduct security sweeps of court facilities and county buildings to ensure the safety of all employees and visitors.








Community Outreach
Programs such as L.E.A.D. (Law Enforcement against Drugs & Violence), Project Lifesaver, Bullying, and Eddie Eagle.

Drone Team
The office currently has four outdoor drones and three indoor drones. Drones are used for tasks like search and rescue, assist with K-9 tracking, provide aerial surveillance, and assist with the apprehension of wanted individuals.
