In 1984, the county began construction of the two story Fire Training Academy Building which also houses the Department of Emergency Services offices, the 9-1-1 public safety telecommunications center, the County emergency operating center and the Public Service Electric & Gas News Center.
A masonry two story building was constructed in 1986 for SCBA and Search & Rescue and the Class A Burn Building was completed in 1997. The confined space prop and SCBA Confidence Maze were added during 2008. The expansion of the facility continued with the addition of two rail cars on a siding, the addition of three cargo tank trailers and various LP gas fired industrial simulation props. We have a vast array of hazardous materials training props, including leaking cylinders, rail heads, drums and pipe flanges.
